Development of traditions of gastronomic heritage of the Lower Danube RiverFood

The meeting was organized by public organizations - partners of the project "Agricola", "Danube League of Culture" and "Agency of International Cooperation and European Integration" Cahul, Moldova, discussed developments in the field of gastronomic tourism.

The participants were welcomed by the director of the department of culture and tourism of the Odessa City Council Tatiana Markova. She said that the topic associated with gastronomy for the city is one of the priority. Odessa is the only city in the world that has its own cuisine. Odessa cuisine is a brand. Today Odessa cuisine within the framework of the international project of the "Danube Competence Center" (DCC) is also represented in the Danube region. Everything that is connected with the development of this direction is promising, interesting and tasty. From the point of view of winemaking, the Odessa region is already on the geographical map of Europe and the world. And we need to enter the European level as soon as possible in other areas of gastronomic tourism, - said Tatyana Yurievna. The Odessa region has so many nationalities and represents a unique example of tolerant interaction and life in the intercultural environment.

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism OGS Alena Dyachenko held a presentation of the tourist product of the culinary guide "Taste of Odessa", which presents the most popular Odessa recipes. The project started in 2013. This is already the third directory of Odessa recipes, which is presented at international tourism exhibitions, introducing the unique Odessa cuisine. Reports were also presented on the gastronomic routes of the Danube region, the Bessarabian cuisine, as well as the gastronomic festival in the city Vilkovo.
